Proofers & Printers

Modern wide format inkjet printers have all the capability to provide high quality proofing and give better performance than traditional analogue proofing such as Cromalin and Matchprint systems. To get the best from your wide format inkjet, so that the digital proofs look like the finished product, they need to be calibrated and profiled. For every proofer, there has to be two profiles, one for the proofer itself and one for the device that it is emulating. This can be a particular press which we will measure and profile or as is more common an industry standard like ISO 12674-2. Normally proofers are driven by an external RIP. The RIP handles all the colour conversion needed for the proofer and it is essential for the RIP to support ICC profiles.

Your wide format printer can also be set up to maximise it's colour gamut for poster or fine art printing

Monitors

Monitors can easily be calibrated using either DataColor Spyder, X-Rite Eye-One or X-Rite OPTIX XR. We will normally recommend that you purchase one of these tools because your monitors will need re-profiling monthly. We will recommend the tool that best suits your needs
